There is nothing I love more when I go to London than a fresh cinnamon bun warm from the oven. So until I get to go again I thought I would try to bake my own. It turned out wonderfully well and were very moreish. It may not have had masses of icing but it was plenty sweet enough.
Disappointing
Hungry for carrot cake? AVOID Muffin Break. It was cold, greasy and bland. Easily the worst i’ve had in town so far. The icing was really strange as well. It didn’t seem like a cream cheese icing which is traditional. I don’t know if it was just a bad piece but I certainly won’t be having it again to see.
These cookies were a little softer because of the moisture of the strawberries but still had a good texture to them. The dark chocolate chunks worked really well along side the strawberries but that’s no surprise. I thought the white chocolate stars on the top just looked really cute.
This is the cake I made for my mums birthday this year. It took ten hours all in all and the inside is a coffee flavoured buttermilk sponge. The covering and figures are made entirely from fondant where as the pink icing is a simple glace icing. The slightly wonky cake and drippy icing is very much intentional since I felt it fit the spirit of the theme.
She was really pleased with it which I was very pleased about.
